Human Detector (Verification Words)
Automated 3rd party software ("bots") scan the internet for registration forms
with the idea of establishing bogus, but usable, accounts on a website. Once
an account is established, the scammer then has the member privileges to the
site. In the case of My Legal Education Log, there is no danger of anyone or
anything gaining access to your information. However, because bots are
automated and relentless, our database can be polluted with many useless
records of ficticous users, and can take a performance hit because of it.
To block activity like this, we have adopted a "human detector" verification
process. This process requires a human eye to read a word from a
computer-generated image, and then type it into a submission form. We regret
the inconvenience, however this will only be required once when you create an
account.
